Dr. Sozer and Dr. Agullo are now offering the option of Transaxillary Breast Augmentation. This procedure offers a better alternative for women who would like to have a larger cup size compared to traditional implants or would just prefer not to be operated on the breast. Transaxillary Breast Augmentation still involves the use of implants, the difference is, the incision is made in the underarm about three to four centimeters long. An endoscope is used to make space for the implant; using the novel Keller Funnel the implant is inserted into the breast either above or below the chest muscle. Use of the Keller Funnel decreases the need for a large incision size and lowers the risk of infection. Women who are thinking about child birth or breastfeeding this method is less likely to create issues in the long run. The whole procedure is relatively quick, taking about 30 minutes and the patient can return to work the next day.
